Viva Kreis
Viva Kreis is a member of the US Team Handball Team. After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class, Viva moved to France to pursue her Olympic aspirations while playing with a professional handball club. Viva is a published author and illustrator of her children’s book, She Did That!?: Amazing Female Athletes from A to Z. Alongside her teammates, Viva has competed in two U20 Handball World Championships and trains with the hopes of competing in the 2028 Olympics. She is studying Mass Communications and Media at Arizona State University. Viva is also the 2022 Heisman Trophy National High School Scholar-Athlete award winner and a Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award Honoree, recognizing her commitment to academics, athletics, and community service. Viva’s passion for women's sports led her to visit all 12 WNBA teams and their arenas, where she interviewed over 50 players, coaches, and executives for a National History Day project on women breaking barriers in the sport of basketball, which has continued to lead to future speaking appearances with both the WNBA and Jr. NBA to share her experiences and expertise.
